Mike Orn

I grew up in Stillwater, MN. My Dad was a high school teacher, hockey coach & ran hockey clinics for youth. My mom owned a Tea/Coffee business in the Old Stillwater Post Office. We were a hockey family and my future employment expectation was to just play professional hockey. I played D1 College Hockey, was drafted in the National Hockey League & played professional hockey in Germany. When my hockey career ended, I thankfully had obtained my Business Finance degree from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. This led me to the insurance industry with State Farm. I was also able to reconnect with Lori, my high school sweetheart & love of my life, who, by the way, had zero plans to marry a hockey player and move to Germany. We married in 1992. We moved to Ramsey in 1994 to be closer to Lori's employment & we have raised 4 wonderful children: Adam, Alex, Casey, Rachel. Being parents has been an incredible honor & privilege for Lori & I. We have had many fun family memories with our kids various sports, school events, vacations, & family gatherings.

We opened our State Farm Agency in 2005 & it has been a blessing to build relationships with so many customers & friends. I really enjoy being a part of the community. I have been able to serve as Vice President of Northgate Church in Ramsey. I am also a Board member at ACBC Food Shelf in Anoka, have been an Adult & Teen Challenge Mentor and also volunteer at the House of Charity Food Shelf in Minneapolis. I still serve the hockey community as the current USA Hockey Coach-in-Chief for Minnesota, a District Hockey Director & have had the opportunity to coach & lead several youth hockey teams & programs in Anoka County. I am also working with Hockey Ministries International sharing Jesus with Anoka Youth Hockey players, parents & coaches at weekly chapels.

We are blessed with an incredible team of 9 full time & 3 part time licensed team members in our office. They collectively have over 100+ years experience in the insurance industry. Our office is the top Insurance Agency in Anoka County & we have qualified for multiple State Farm awards. Our office offers Home Insurance, Renters Insurance, Car insurance, Auto Insurance, Life Insurance, and Commercial Insurance in Andover, Anoka, Ramsey, Coon Rapids, Ham Lake, Oak Grove, East Bethel, Blaine & all of Anoka County.

Unfortunately, in January, 2023, we lost our beloved son Casey. We are sad & heartbroken, but grateful for the 22 years we enjoyed with our beloved Casey. Casey was a believer in Jesus Christ & we know for certain he is in heaven & no longer in pain. The love & prayers we have received from the community has been life changing & beyond our understanding. It can only be God's love working personally through people.
